Jianghu 江湖

2019

Jianghu, a Chinese word originally refers to rivers, lakes and seas, and later represented the ideal home of the mind as opposed to politics. It is a world-weary and passive place that does not believe in legitimism and order. The people in Jianghu insist a unique social system of governance and balanced rules developed from the folk.

This project stems from my ambivalence towards disorder freedom and central domination, and shows the imaginary persona of the people in Jianghu, documenting the contradiction between conventional ethics and the development of reality.
